Minotaur

Minotaur are humans with the head of a bull. They stand over 7' tall and weigh over 400 pounds (72 +4D6 inches/450 +4D20 lbs. for males, 66 +4D6 inches/390 +4D20 lbs. for females). Minotaurs can live for about 140 years (130 +2D10 years max). The horns of a minotaur grow to a length of up to 2 feet (12 +1D12 inches) and minotaurs take great pride in the length of their horns, seeing it as a sign of strength. A minotaur's body is covered in a layer of short hair, which is brown or black in most cases.

PERSONALITY:

Minotaurs are ruled by honor. They have no respect for those who are dishonorable, particularly thieves. Their honor is passed down through their family, which makes the family or clan very important to a minotaur. To be cut off from the family is to be cut off from society. Minotaurs are not known for being heavy thinkers, and while some are very intelligent, they all see strength as the ultimate answer to everything. They feel that with enough skill and enough muscle, any obstacle can be overcome. They also see themselves as the strongest creatures on the planet; since might makes right, they have come to believe it is their right to rule the world. Most minotaur nations are aggressive and expansionist, and while a few have made peace with the nearby nations, these are little more than cease fires.

LIFESTYLE:

Minotaurs live for the most part in squalid cities, where only the exceptionally strong and brave can hope for more than a life of poverty. The only area of the city which is given any attention is the area, the minotaur court. All disagreements are settled in the arena, and the victor is considered legally in the right.

TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY:

Minotaurs have devoted a great deal of effort into developing their weapons. An abbreviated list follows. Minotaurs favor powerful weapons or weapons of great skill. A minotaur's thick hide grants it a base AC of 7, and they do not wear armor or use shields.

Forpan: (Damage 1D8 +1/3D6, Speed 8, Type P, Range 1/2/3) A forpan is a heavy trident with a weighted rope on one end. Characters of exceptional strength (18 or more) can hurl a forpan like a spear.

Mandoll: (Damage 1D4 +2/1D3 +2, Speed 2, Type P/S/B) This is the minotaur equivalent of a cestus. It is an iron gauntlet with spikes on the knuckles and a long blade on the thumb. It is very common in the arena.

Clabbard: (Damage 2D6 +2/1D8 +2, Speed 5, Type S) This 6' long broadsword has one serrated edge and can be used to break an opponent's weapon. It rips through leather or quilted armors with ease (+1 to hit).
