Imiran

Darin created the region known as Imiran. It is a collection of twisted, convoluted islands and dangerous underwater reefs. Sailors call this region "The Dragon's Claws" because of the difficulty involved in navigating it. Imiran is the northernmost region of the world.

The Nations of Imiran:

SERAPHIN

CAPITAL: Marcous

MAIN POPULACE: Human

LANGUAGES: Seraphinan*, Demoran*, Fellasan*, Common

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Chaotic Good

GOVERNMENT: Monarchy

ALLIES: Demor, Fellas

GEOGRAPHY: Seraphin lies on the northwest corner of Imiran. Mountains and fjords dot the landscape, but primarily the entire nation is tundra or glacier. Two large, hook- like peninsulas jut from the northern edge of the nation, and the southern half is split by a small channel.

CLIMATE: As mentioned above, the climate is cold year round. Snow fall is somewhat less common than one might suspect, but the snow that does fall tends to stay for months at a time.

POLITICS: Seraphin is an isolationist country. Though they tolerate their demihuman neighbors, they will not have any dealings with others from this or other regions.

TRADE: Seraphin will trade with Demor or Fellas on occasion, but all others will be turned away.

 

DEMOR

CAPITAL: Shanarr

MAIN POPULACE: Dwarves and Goblin- kin

LANGUAGES: Demoran*, Seraphinian*, Gobbely, Common, Bilnarkan+

National Alignment: Chaotic Good

GOVERNMENT: Monarchy

ALLIES: Seraphin

GEOGRAPHY: Between the Humans and the Bilnarko live the Dwarves of Demor. The region is hilly and rocky, with a number of steep mountain ranges. The southern part of the nation is covered by a coniferous forest, but the northern areas have glaciers and tundra instead.

CLIMATE: Varies from arctic in the north to a cold temperate in the south.

POLITICS: The Dwarves of Demor are split into two clans: the Hemar are Hill Dwarves who tend to live in the south, and the Femar are Mountain Dwarves who live under the mountains and hills of the north. Neither are particularly open to outsiders.

TRADE: The Hemar sometimes trade with Seraphin, but this is rare. The Femar will trade with no one.

 

BILLIHAR

CAPITAL: None

MAIN POPULACE: Bilnarko and Goblin- kin

LANGUAGES: Bilnarkan*, Gobbely*

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Neutral

GOVERNMENT: Multiple tribes

ALLIES: None

GEOGRAPHY: The Bilnarko live on the eastern end of the largest continent on Imiran. Though they claim a great deal of land, they only inhabit a small area of mountain in the center of their country.

CLIMATE: As with the other nations on this continent, most of the land is covered by glaciers or tundra. There are some forests in the south, but they are small and scraggly.

POLITICS: The Bilnarko of Billihar want nothing to do with the outside world. Intruders into their lands are driven off or killed.

TRADE: Billihar trades with no one.

 

FELLAS

CAPITAL: Lamorra

MAIN POPULACE: Elves and Goblin- kin

LANGUAGES: Fellasan*, Seraphinan*, Gobbely, Common, Minotosan, Destrosh+

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Neutral Good

GOVERNMENT: Monarchy

ALLIES: Seraphin, Destros

GEOGRAPHY: Fellas is the westernmost country on Imiran. It covers one island completely and covers just over half of another. Thick coniferous forests cover most of Fellas.

CLIMATE: Though much warmer than the northern continents, it can still only be considered a cold temperate climate.

POLITICS: Fellas is engaged in a war with Minotos to the east. Though Seraphin and Destros lend some aid, for the most part they are on their own.

TRADE: Fellas primarily trades with Destros. Seraphin will trade on occasion, but this is rare.

GEOGRAPHY: In the eastern sea of Imiran is a series of small islands surrounded by large reefs and underground mountains. On one of these islands is the Gnomish empire of Septintilligetmistrengthback. It is covered with coniferous forests and mountains, and is as yet undiscovered.

CLIMATE: The island lies in the cold temperate zone that prevails over this region.

POLITICS: Since the Gnomes are unaware of the existence of other nations, they do not care what they do.

TRADE: None

 

MINOTOS

CAPITAL: Virtrous

MAIN POPULACE: Minotaur and Goblin- kin

LANGUAGES: Minotosan*, Ararhhan*, Gobbely, Common, Fellasan+

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Lawful Evil

GOVERNMENT: Empire

ALLIES: Ararhh

GEOGRAPHY: Minotos is just east of Fellas, spread across three different islands. The area is difficult to navigate due to numerous uncharted islands and reefs. Most of the land is rocky and it is difficult to farm.

CLIMATE: Identical to Fellas, though Minotos does not stretch so far north.

POLITICS: Minotos is trying to conquer this region with the help of their ally, Ararhh. However, it will be a long and difficult war.

TRADE: Minotos and Ararhh trade weapons and armor back and forth.

 

KARION

CAPITAL: Smallhome

MAIN POPULACE: Halflings

LANGUAGES: Halftalk*

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Neutral Good

GOVERNMENT: Democracy

ALLIES: None

GEOGRAPHY: Karion is a small island between Minotos and Kenderhome. A dangerous reef all but surrounds the island; navigating them without knowing exactly where the few openings are is suicide. Karion has gone undiscovered for millennia.

CLIMATE: Identical to Minotos, but the forests are much thinner.

POLITICS: The Halflings of this island believe they are the only beings on the planet. They think that there is nothing out there but miles and miles of ocean. Someday perhaps they will learn otherwise.

TRADE: None

 

KENDERHOME

CAPITAL: None

MAIN POPULACE: Kender and Goblin- kin

LANGUAGES: Kenderspeak*, Ararhh*, Common

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Neutral Good

GOVERNMENT: Anarchy

ALLIES: None

GEOGRAPHY: Kenderhome lies on the northern tip of the southernmost continent of Imiran. A channel runs through the nation, splitting it into two halves. Coniferous forests cover much of Kenderhome.

CLIMATE: Identical to Fellas.

POLITICS: Kenderhome is currently repelling an invasion from the Wolfen to the southwest. Without help they will shortly be completely overrun.

TRADE: Kenderhome will trade with any strangers who visit, but they must first navigate treacherous reefs and canals.

 

ARARHH

CAPITAL: Howrrr

MAIN POPULACE: Wolfen and Goblin- kin

LANGUAGES: Ararhhan*, Minotosan*, Gobbely, Common, Kenderspeak

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Lawful Evil

GOVERNMENT: Monarchy

ALLIES: Minotos

GEOGRAPHY: Ararhh lies between Minotos and Kenderhome. It has similar terrain to Kenderhome and Minotos. Their borders are constantly moving northward into Kenderhome.

CLIMATE: Identical to southern Minotos.

POLITICS: Ararhh and Minotos have united to enslave this region of Karion. While Minotos moves west, Ararhh will spread north and cut off the Kender from the rest of the region. Once they have conquered Kenderhome they will aid Minotos in their battle against the Elves.

TRADE: Ararhh and Minotos trade with each other but with no one else.

 

DESTROS

CAPITAL: Armahedge

MAIN POPULACE: Centaur, Nightmare, and Goblin- kin

LANGUAGES: Destrosh*, Almaran*, Fellasan*, Gobbely*, Common

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Lawful Neutral

GOVERNMENT: Empire

ALLIES: Fellas

GEOGRAPHY: Destros lies on the southernmost island on Imiran. A small island, Destros is covered by temperate forests and small lakes. Destros is south of Fellas.

CLIMATE: Warmer than most islands on Imiran. While the area is still in a cold temperate zone, the temperature averages much warmer and there is more rain and snow.

POLITICS: Destros is engaged in what may soon become a civil war. For years, Nightmares have been treated as second- class citizens; now they want to take control of the government and make Centaurs their slaves. This impending war is preventing Destros from aiding Fellas against the Minotaurs.

TRADE: Destros will trade with most "good" races, but Minotaurs, Wolfen, and Goblin- kin will meet great hostility here.
