The World of Karion

Karion is a pretty funny-looking place. When it was first created, several of the Gods got together and each shaped their own little section. As a result, it looks like Karion was stitched together from the continents of several different worlds. They don't fit together very well, giving the planet a disjointed look. Also, there are very few land masses large enough to be considered continents, so it is instead divided into Continental regions. Basically, a region is a group of large islands huddled together in a tight group that together have roughly the same land mass as a continent.

I've divided the important information about the geography and such into the different continental regions. A few note before I let ya go...in the descriptions of the individual nations, an asterisk (*) in front of any language means it's the most common language in that area. Characters from that nation automatically speak that language (if there's more than one, then they get all of them) without expending a proficiency slot. Languages with a plus (+) are spoken only by certain minorities and are not very common.

One final note: language can quickly become a problem on Karion if your characters like to travel from continent to continent, since languages that are common in one are almost never spoken in another. To help alleviate this problem, the language of Common was developed. Common is a trade language, made of a spattering of a lot of other languages from around the world. For the most part, it's universal-almost everyone speaks it. On the other hand, it doesn't easily translate into any other language and it follows a unique set of grammatical rules that make it more or less impossible to pick up without a teacher.

Well, that's all for now. I'll get some maps drawn up when I find the time. Until then, why don't you go...
