Misk

Misk was created by Runis, who intended it to be the center of learning for the entire world. It is comprised of three large islands. Rumor has it that Misk is home to countless dragons; whether or not this is true has yet to be seen. Most people avoid Misk at all costs.

The Nations of Misk:

NOTE: I suggest you put some thought into whether you want to use this nation in your campaign or not. Vector is well above the technological standard of most AD&D nations (they have developed the steam engine and electricity). Since mixing "high" technology in AD&D campaigns is controversial at best, I made certain that the campaign can work perfectly well without ever having to introduce Vector. If you chose not to use it, Misk has no nations and is peopled entirely by dragons.

(By the way, it was an argument over this nation that broke up my original Karion campaign, even though there had been no adventures yet that had even taken place there. The mere presence of the automatons (which will be in the bestiary, along with a note similar to this one) caused "artistic differences" between myself and my other two co-conspirators. Use this place with caution.)

VECTOR

CAPITAL: Warhammer

MAIN POPULACE: Human

LANGUAGES: Vectoran*

NATIONAL ALIGNMENT: Lawful Evil

GOVERNMENT: Totalitarian

ALLIES: None

GEOGRAPHY: Hidden in the very center of Misk is a small but growing nation with vast technological power. The land nearby is covered by thick forests and high mountains. The western edge of Vector borders on a large plain.

CLIMATE: Very mild temperate. The temperature manages to stay around 65° year round. Vectoran clerics are able to divert most major storms.

POLITICS: Machines, such as steam engines and electrical motors, power many strange and fantastic devices here. Vector has used their vast knowledge to mix technology and magic together. The result is a creature that is not quite a machine and not quite a golem, but a mixture of both-an automaton. These mindless hulks are being readied for a massive invasion, which will take place as soon as a large enough army can be assembled. Though other nations have no knowledge of Vector, they have been studying the outside world for some time and have collected a great deal of information on their enemies.

TRADE: None.
